How can I practise IELTS Speaking on the site?

You can learn about and practice Speaking using our Guided Skills courses, our individual practice questions, and our full mock tests. 

You can also use the AI Mini Mock test: a quick, free assessment tool that gives you a snapshot of your IELTS readiness. It provides detailed AI scoring and feedback for Speaking and Writing. Read the article for more information and get started!

IELTS Ready Premium

There are several ways we can help you with IELTS Speaking practice and feedback on your speaking.

1. Take a Speaking course or learn about a Speaking topic in the 'Study' section

You can select a Speaking course or a topic to work on in the Study section of the site. The courses and topics will get you familiar with the format of the test and how to best prepare for it with classes, training and practice exercises.

2. Complete a Full Speaking mock test or practice individual parts

You can take full Speaking mock tests or individually practise each part of the Speaking exam in the Practice section.

You can review your work afterwards and listen to your audio in your History area.

When taking a mock test, you can choose to get FlexCheck AI feedback. This gives you automatic feedback with a breakdown of your score in each marking criteria, detailed written feedback, vocabulary analysis, and pronunciation help and feedback.

For FlexCheck AI feedback on individual practice tasks, you will need to go to your History area and click get result in order to get your feedback after completing the task.

If you would like Tutor feedback on your Speaking, you can purchase FlexLessons. You can use these to take a full Speaking mock test with a tutor. Use the Practice section and select Get Tutor feedback to book your live mock Speaking test with a tutor.

For Speaking mock tests with a tutor, at the time of the class, join by clicking on the session in your calendar (or the link in your confirmation email).

In your Speaking Mock Test, your tutor will spend around 15 minutes on a mock test of all three parts, and then spend around 15 minutes giving feedback. You will also receive a written feedback form with feedback on your performance in the four marking criteria.

Remember, you can view your FlexCheck AI or Tutor feedback in your History area at any time.
