During the IELTS On Computer Listening test, you can ask for a piece of paper and a pen to make notes with (please note that restrictions may apply in pandemic conditions - please contact your test centre for their policy).
However, you must answer the questions on the computer while you listen. You will not have time to enter / select your answers at the end. You only have 2 minutes at the end of the recording to check your answers. This is not enough time to answer 40 questions.
In the IELTS On Paper test, you should make notes and write down your answers on the question paper. After the recording finishes, you will have 10 minutes to write your answers clearly on the answer sheet. Your question paper will not be marked, only the answer sheet.
