In IELTS Academic Writing Task 1, you will be asked to write a 150-word report on a diagram. There will be only one question, so you will not have a choice. You must analyse the diagram and then write a report summarising the key features, and making comparisons where relevant. The six main types of diagram are:
▲ Line graph
▲ Bar chart
▲ Pie chart(s)
▲ Table
▲ Map(s)
▲ Process diagram
You may also see a question with two different types of diagrams.
It's important to get familiar with all of the diagram types for Writing Task 1. They will require a similar report structure, but different language.
