Do the answers have to come from the text?

For Reading questions where you have to write words, the answer will always come directly from the text. This includes short answer questions, sentence completion questions, note completion questions and diagram labelling questions.

Read the instructions carefully to know the word limit. For example, if the instructions say "Use no more than two words from the text" then you can write one word or two words. If you wrote three words, in this example, that would be marked as incorrect.

Make sure you copy the word from the text exactly as it is written. Do not change the spelling, the word form, or add any letters.
